Satellites Programme 2018 Open Call

Deadline 19 June 2017, 5pm

Collective is looking for visual artists, writers, curators and producers to take part in our 2018 Satellites Programme.

Satellites Programme has been specifically developed to facilitate practitioners at a pivotal, emergent, point in their career. The programme consists of discussions, events, exhibitions, retreats, mentoring and an annual publication, seeking to foster criticality through peer development and review. Selection for the programme is through an open submission to a new panel of selectors, appointed by Collective each year.

Satellites Programme offers two distinct opportunities:

  1. Three Visual Art Practitioners of any discipline will produce significant visual art commissions and participate in a structured programme of critical discourse and development opportunities over one year.
  2. Two six month work placements for Associate Producers, interested in the research, development and delivery of exhibitions, events and texts. Both Associate Producers will receive a stipend fee, research budget and produce their own project.

These opportunities are open to practitioners currently based in Scotland who are not represented by a commercial gallery and are either:

  • In their final year of undergraduate or postgraduate, OR
  • Have not had a major opportunity in Scotland in the last four years

2018 Selectors: Kathryn Elkin (artist), Caoimhín Mac Giolla Léith (Writer) and Camille Videcoq (Director of Rond-Point Projects, Marseille). Chaired by Siobhan Carroll (Head of Programme, Collective) with Frances Stacey (Producer, Collective).
